ICONS- Iconic Figures of the 60’s



 
IMAGO Art Gallery Opening Friday, April 25, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. The weekend of Melbourne Art Festival in historic downtown Melbourne, IMAGO Art Gallery will showcase new works that feature Icons of the 60s. Prolific and ingenious local artist Tom Busby has created an installation art piece of “the King” Elvis Presley shown on stacked television sets in addition to colorful depictions of icons Bob Dylan, Marilyn Monroe, Salvador Dali, Astronauts, Andy Warhol, and Ray Charles. His illustrious wife Vicki Busby will show her vivid renditions of Audrey Hepburn anFidel Castro. Claudia Pastorius will present political figures John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and musician John Lennon. There will be more surprise Icons by the ambitious contemporary artists that are part of the Imago artist community. The evening will also be feature acoustic guitar music with Andy Harrington of local band On Hiatus. The exhibit will show through art festival weekend and into early May 2008. Come join a weekend of incredible art, wonderful music, and fine wine.
